Heads-Up for the November 30, 2016 Park Board Meeting

5:00 P.M.  REGULAR BOARD MEETING.  The meeting will be held in the boardroom at Park Board headquarters, 2117 West River Road, just north of Broadway Pizza.  Visitors to Park Board meetings can find at the back of the meeting room the agenda book with all the printed materials for the meeting.  NOTE: The reason for this third November meeting is because the Park Board budget has to be approved by the Park Board commissioners prior to the next City Council meeting where the City approves the Park Board budget

5:30 P.M.  OPEN TIME.  Speakers can call 612-230-6400 before 3:00 p.m. the day of the meeting to sign up or they can sign up at the Board meeting prior to the start of “Open Time”

6:00 P.M.  PUBLIC HEARING — Parkway Paving Assessment 2014 to 2016

–Filing Commissioners’ Report and to Assess Certain Properties to Defray the Cost of Parkway Paving Improvements Adjacent to Private Property During the Period 2014 to 2016

–Approving Strategic Direction for the Calhoun Refectory Building and Immediately Surrounding Park Areas at Lake Calhoun, Which Lies Within Minneapolis Chain of Lakes Regional Park

–Boom Island-Nicollet Island Bridge Repairs Study Report

–Lake of the Isles Proposed Warming House Improvements Including Goals, Schedule, and Design Competition Plan VI.

–Awarding a Construction Contract to Morcon Construction Company, Inc., in the Amount of $5,664,000.00 for Phillips Community Center Aquatics Facility Project Per O.P. No. 8352, Pending Approval by City of Minneapolis Purchasing & Procurement and Civil Rights Departments and Authorizing Administrative Use of an 8% Construction Contingency Up to $453,120.00 for Necessary Construction Change Orders that May Arise with the Contract

–Setting the 2017 Tax Levy for the Minneapolis Park and Recreation Board

–Adopting the 2017 Minneapolis Park and Recreation Board Budget

–Approving the 2017 Legislative Agenda of the Minneapolis Park & Recreation Board

Webcasts of MPRB regular board meetings are posted on the same web page two to five business days following each meeting and are available for viewing, along with webcasts for the previous two months.

Also of interest and now available to the commissioners and the public are the monthly reports that Superintendent Miller has initiated for construction permits and for Planning Department projects. The availability of these reports is one of the important changes instituted by Superintendent Miller. They are normally in the agenda packet for the first regular meeting of the month.
