Heads-Up for the January 20, 2016 Park Board Meeting

4:45 P.M.  CLOSED SESSION for discussion Regarding Proposed Workers Compensation Settlement

5:00 P.M.  REGULAR BOARD MEETING.  The meeting will be held in the boardroom at Park Board headquarters, 2117 West River Road, just north of Broadway Pizza.  Visitors to Park Board meetings can find at the back of the meeting room the agenda book with all the printed materials for the meeting

5:30 P.M.  OPEN TIME. Speakers can call 612-230-6400 before 3:00 p.m. the day of the meeting to sign up or they can sign up at the Board meeting prior to the start of “Open Time”

6:30 P.M.  PUBLIC HEARING. Powderhorn Park Wading Pool and Playground Improvements.  Those wishing to speak can sign up at the meeting.

–Approving the Negotiated Full, Final and Complete Settlement with Specified Future Medical Expenses Open for a Limited Duration According to Terms of the Agreement as Discussed in a Closed Session on January 20, 2016 for Work Injuries Sustained While Working for the Minneapolis Park and Recreation Board

–Approving Proposed Ballot Language for a November 2016 Referendum and Elements for an Agreement with the Minneapolis City Council to Address Sustained Current Funding to Provide a Long Term Strategy to Address the Funding Gap for Annual Maintenance, Repairs and Capital Investments for Minneapolis Neighborhood Parks

–2015 Year End Federal Lobbying Report

–Authorizing a Professional Services Agreement with Bolton & Menk, Inc. to Provide Professional Engineering and Surveying Services Related to the Design and Engineering of the Theodore Wirth Regional Park Adventure and Welcome Center Utility Improvements in the Amount of $82,109.00

–Accepting the Non-Appointed Community Advisory Committee Recommendations and Approving the Concept Plans for Wading Pool and Playground Improvements at Powderhorn Park in South Minneapolis

Also of interest and now available to the commissioners and the public are the monthly reports that Superintendent Miller has initiated for construction permits and for Planning Department projects. The availability of these reports is one of the important changes instituted by Superintendent Miller. They are normally in the agenda packet for the first regular meeting of the month.
