U.S. District Court Magistrate Judge Steven Rau on Monday ordered the Metropolitan Council to release documents related to planning the Southwest light rail line to opponents of the proposed route.

Unless the Met Council appeals the decision, Minneapolis-based nonprofit Lakes and Parks Alliance will receive emails and other communications with vendors, contractors, legislators and city representatives within 15 days of the order. Communications with the Federal Transit Administration are also part of the request.
