At the September 2 Park Board meeting, the Park Board renamed Lake Calhoun.  After a lengthy discussion, during which the Board was told by its attorney, Brian Rice, that it did not have naming authority, the Board went ahead and voted to add the native name Bde Maka Ska to the name Lake Calhoun.  The new signs at the lake will read Lake Calhoun and Bde Maka Ska.  Voting for the new name were Commissioners Annie Young, Jon Olson, John Erwin, Scott Vreeland, Brad Bourn and Meg Forney.  President Liz Wielinski abstained.  Not present were Commissioners Anita Tabb and Steffanie Musich.
