Reminder: Two Public Meetings on SW LRT

Two SWLRT Meetings Scheduled

The Metropolitan Council has scheduled two public meetings in January to discuss three ongoing studies on the Southwest Light Rail Transit project.

Those studies all take a closer look at the Kenilworth Corridor, a disputed section of the proposed light rail route through Minneapolis. They’ll examine options for relocating freight rail, the potential impacts of tunneling on water resources and options for landscaping after construction.

The meetings are: 5 p.m.–7:30 p.m. Jan. 7 at Kenwood Community Center, 2101 W. Franklin Ave.; and 5 p.m.–7:30 p.m. Jan. 9 at St. Louis Park Recreation Center, 3700 Monterey Drive.  Draft versions of the reports aren’t expected until later in the month.
