Heads-up For The October 2, 2013 Park Board Meeting

5:00 P.M.  REGULAR BOARD MEETING. The meeting will be held in the boardroom at Park Board headquarters, 2117 West River Road, just north of Broadway Pizza.

5:30 P.M.  OPEN TIME. Speakers can call 612-230-6400 before 3:00 p.m. the day of the meeting to sign up or they can sign up at the Board meeting prior to the start of “Open Time.”

The following topics are some of the agenda highlights:

*Full Board: Community engagement plan for remodeling the Minnehaha Park Refectory (where Sea Salt is located).  The remodeling is described as a low-impact project and a CAC is not proposed.

*Admin–Finance Committee: Contract for $486,603 for a new irrigation well for Meadowbrook golf course.  The well is proposed because irrigation water is currently being taken from Minnehaha Creek, and it is expected that zebra mussels from the creek would eventually clog all the irrigation lines.

*Admin–Finance Committee: License agreement to allow the Minnesota Streetcar Museum (located on City property) to expand onto Park Board Land, thereby allowing room for one additional streetcar to be kept there and restored.

The complete agenda, with staff reports, for the MPRB Board of Commissioners’ meeting on Wednesday September 18, 2013 is at http://minneapolisparksmn.iqm2.com/Citizens/Default.aspx

Also of interest and now available to the commissioners and the public are the monthly reports that Superintendent Miller has initiated for construction permits and for Planning Department projects. The availability of these reports is one of the important changes instituted by Superintendent Miller. The October report is included in the Full Board agenda for this meeting since it is the first Regular Meeting of the month.
