Heads Up for the March 10 Park Board Meeting

HEADS-UP FOR THE MARCH 10, 2010 PARK BOARD MEETING

There will be an extra Park Board meeting on Wednesday, March 10 at 5:00 P.M. The meeting will be held in the Minnehaha Room at Park Board headquarters and will not be televised or broadcast, which is unfortunate because the meeting topics are very important ones.

LEGISLATION AND INTERGOVERNMENTAL COMMITTEE. The Board will be voting on supporting legislation for a personal property tax exemption. This is an issue that administrative staff is very supportive of and seems to be pushing through without adequate discussion or public awareness.

COMMITTEE OF THE WHOLE. There is one report item: Enterprise Overview. Enterprise is the name of the so-called money making division of the Park Board. Two of the largest enterprise projects ended up in litigation–The Fuji-ya/Wave and the 201 Building. This also is a topic that should have public exposure.
