Star Tribune: Park commissioners who prefer cement
At a time of tight budgets and scarce resources, one would think our Minneapolis Park and Recreation Board would not drain money from tot-pools and other people things. The park department is spending tens upon tens of thousand dollars for roadway expansion at Dupont and Roseway Road. At the lake foot of Roseway, the park department has built two driveways -- for a parking lot where canoes now rest.
It is clear that Jon Gurban, Walt Dziedzic, and Bob Fine are the best friends that Detroit and the Portland Cement Association have on the Park Board. Lets hope these anti-people board members are dumped at the next election.
John Fermans, Minneapolis.
